Milford did not go up automatically. They finished third, entered the promotion/relegation play-offs, and topped the mini-table ahead of Magesi and Cape Town City, sealing promotion with a 1-1 draw away at Magesi on 13 June 2026 — a result that simultaneously sent Magesi down.
They also had a notable cup run in the same season, reaching the Nedbank Cup semi-finals, including a win over top-flight Sekhukhune United on penalties after a 2-2 draw. That is the only meaningful evidence we have of Milford against Premiership opposition, and it is a single match.
What That Means for Betting
Their promotion route is worth weighing. Play-off promotion from third is a different signal from winning the division. Cape Town City finished second with a better goal difference (+22) and did not go up; Milford came through a knockout format. Small-sample outcomes decided this, which is exactly the kind of evidence that transfers poorly.
The Nedbank Cup result is encouraging but thin. Beating Sekhukhune on penalties after a draw tells you Milford can compete in a one-off match. It does not tell you how they will handle thirty of them.
