This policy sets out how Bet AFR creates its content, how we keep it accurate, and the standards every page must meet before it goes live. It applies to everything we publish — bookmaker reviews, PSL predictions, Lucky Numbers guides and explainers.

How our content is created

Every page is written by the Bet AFR editorial team and reviewed before publication. We write for South African punters in plain language, and we aim to give a straight answer rather than fill space. Bookmaker reviews and rankings follow the transparent method on our how we rate page, so verdicts are reached the same way every time.

Fact-checking and sourcing

Accuracy is the standard we hold ourselves to most strictly:

We research before we write. Odds, bonus terms, licence details and team form are checked against primary sources — the operator's own site, the licensing authority and reputable sports data — never invented or guessed.
We cite and date. Odds and bonus figures are recorded at the time of writing, and we note when a review was last verified. Offers change often, so confirm the current terms on the operator's own site before depositing.
We don't fabricate. We do not publish invented statistics, fake credentials or stock-photo "experts". Where a figure can't be verified, we leave it out.
We never promise winnings. Betting carries real financial risk. We don't describe any bet as certain, and we frame Lucky Numbers and tips as entertainment, not a way to make money.
We correct mistakes. If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the page. Spotted an error? Contact us.

How often we update

Betting content goes stale quickly. We re-check our bookmaker rankings and the offers behind them regularly, and we revise reviews whenever an operator changes its terms, payout speed or licence status. Prediction pages are tied to a specific fixture. Each page shows when it was last updated.

Affiliate disclosure

Bet AFR is free to read because the site is funded partly through affiliate partnerships. Some links to bookmakers are affiliate links, and if you sign up through one we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This never influences our reviews, ratings or rankings — we score every operator against the same six factors whether or not we have a commercial arrangement with it, and we drop any partner that stops treating players fairly.

Editorial independence

Commercial partners do not get to approve, edit or veto our content, and they cannot buy a higher ranking. Our recommendations are based on merit, measured by the method we publish openly.
