How PayShap Request works, what to check before approving a betting deposit, and how to handle fees, missing payments and withdrawals.
Sources checked 17 September 2026. This explains a payment method; no real-money deposit test or complete operator acceptance list is claimed.
PayShap can only be used for a betting deposit when the operator provides a supported payment flow for your account. Start inside the official cashier and look for PayShap or PayShap Request by name. An Ozow logo alone does not tell you which payment options that cashier has enabled.
For other routes, compare the payment methods overview, instant EFT guide and Ozow guide.
PayShap moves money between bank accounts. PayShap Request adds a request that the payer reviews and authorises through their bank. In Ozow's published implementation, the customer supplies a phone number or bank account number and authenticates the payment in their banking app. It does not require entering card details or sharing banking credentials with the merchant.
This is different from deciding on your own to send a transfer to a phone number. Use the operator's supported checkout so that its instructions and payment reference can be followed. Do not send money to a number found in an advert, a comment or an unsolicited support message.
Use this checklist when the cashier offers PayShap Request:
A request arriving is not proof that a payment has completed. Equally, a bank debit and an updated betting balance are two separate things to check. Avoid making another deposit just because the cashier screen has not refreshed.
There is no single fee or deposit limit established for every bank and betting account in this guide. Compare the amount you want to deposit with both the bank's terms and the operator's cashier conditions.
For a specific banking example, Discovery Bank's published PayShap terms, dated 18 October 2024 and checked for this guide, allow bank-set limits and a non-refundable payment fee. They describe confirmed payments as irrevocable. These are Discovery terms, not a fee schedule for every bank. Check the current pricing shown by your own bank before approving.
Do not assume that a completed bank instruction can simply be cancelled. If you paid incorrectly, contact your bank and the recipient through verified channels promptly. A merchant agreeing to return money is a separate process from cancelling the original instruction; do not assume a refund is guaranteed.
Our deposit-not-reflecting guide explains how to assemble a support case. Share only what the verified support channel needs; obscure unrelated transactions on a bank statement.
Deposit support does not establish withdrawal support. Before funding the account, check which payout method is available, whose bank account it can pay, verification requirements, fees and the operator's processing window. Use the withdrawal guide to compare those conditions. A real-time bank payment mechanism does not promise instant bookmaker approval or wallet reconciliation.
Does every Ozow betting cashier offer PayShap Request? Do not assume so. Confirm the named method in the current cashier for your account and bank; provider capability alone does not confirm operator availability.
Is PayShap the same as a voucher? No. This is a bank-payment flow, not a prepaid voucher PIN. If you want to fund an account using cash, compare the separate voucher guides on the payments overview.
What should I do if my bank paid but my balance did not update? Check transaction history, keep the bank and cashier references, and ask the operator to trace the payment. Avoid sending another deposit until you understand what happened to the first.
Are PayShap deposits free? Check both your bank's current pricing and the operator's cashier terms. This guide does not establish a universal fee or limit.
Can I withdraw winnings with PayShap? Only if your operator offers it as a supported withdrawal route for your account. Confirm payout and verification conditions separately from deposit instructions.
