Prepare identity and address documents, upload them safely, resolve rejections and follow up on a pending betting-account verification.

FICA verification is the identity-checking process you may encounter when opening or using a South African betting account. Start with the document request inside your own account. Prepare what that operator asks for, check the upload result, and keep the support reference until the account status is confirmed.
Check verification requirements before relying on a deposit or payout. The payments overview explains method selection; the withdrawal guide covers payout conditions separately.
FICA refers to the Financial Intelligence Centre Act. The government's summary of the 2017 amendment describes the introduction of a risk-based approach to identifying and verifying clients and stronger customer due diligence.
Do not treat an operator's document list as a universal legal checklist for every account. Follow the current request and ask which alternative evidence is acceptable if you cannot supply a listed item. A previous approval at another bookmaker does not tell you what this one needs.
Start with three questions:
Use documents belonging to you. Check that the name, date of birth and address entered in your profile are accurate. If a name change, spelling error or recent move creates a mismatch, explain it to official support rather than editing the document.
Supabets' current FICA page asks for identity evidence and a recent bank statement, with a residential address and matching full name. It lists ID cards/books and passports and specifies address evidence less than three months old.
Its separate upload guide lists a wider range of address documents, recommends PDF/JPEG/PNG, and describes a profile/withdrawal upload flow including a selfie. These pages are not identical. Confirm the requested evidence and upload route in your account; do not assume every document on the broader list will satisfy a specific request.
The three-month condition here is an attributed Supabets example, not a universal expiry rule for every document or operator. No verification turnaround time was tested for this guide.
Do not publish identity images in a review, social post or public support thread. Never disclose a banking password, card security code or OTP to an agent. If a statement contains unrelated sensitive information, ask which fields must remain visible and whether redaction is permitted; obscuring required evidence without agreement can cause rejection.
Use the rejection message to choose the next step:
If the address document is in a landlord's or relative's name, or you do not have a conventional utility account, explain that situation and request an accepted alternative. Do not assume an affidavit or someone else's bill will be accepted without confirmation. Foreign-national document requirements also need an operator-specific answer.
Ask support whether the documents were received, whether anything is missing and whether the account is approved for the requested action. A verification approval and a withdrawal approval are separate statuses; completing one does not establish that the other is finished.
A concise support message can say:
I submitted the requested verification documents on [date] under reference [reference]. My status is [status]. Please confirm receipt, identify any missing or rejected item, and tell me the next step and expected review window.
Send this through the operator's verified channel; do not add an ID number or document image to a public message. Keep the response and follow the stated complaints process if the issue remains unresolved. Do not make another deposit simply to try to unlock verification or speed up a withdrawal.
For payment tracing, use deposit not reflecting. For document requirements after funding with vouchers, see withdrawals after voucher deposits.
Does every bookmaker require the same FICA documents? No single document list is established by this guide. Follow the current request for your account and ask official support about acceptable alternatives.
Must every proof of address be less than three months old? Supabets publishes that condition in the example checked here. Do not assume the same age rule applies to every document and every operator.
What if I have no bill in my own name? Explain your circumstances and ask which alternative evidence is accepted before submitting. Do not alter a document or assume another person's bill is sufficient.
How long does FICA verification take? This guide has not measured processing times. Ask the operator for its current review window and whether your submission is complete.
Does uploading documents mean I can withdraw? No. Check that verification was approved, then check the withdrawal's own status and any remaining requirements.
